Dressing the Bump :: Patterned Skirts and Tied Shirts

October 2, 2013

Dressing my halfway pregnant body has been more enjoyable than frustrating so far, and I’m trying to bask in the glow of this phase while it lasts because I’m sure soon enough I’ll be over absolutely everything. But for now, it’s great experimenting with new or old pieces and wearing them in ways I haven’t had the opportunity to before. It’s maybe slightly silly how many times I’ve tied T-shirts at the waist, or put belts above my growing belly, but hey! You’ve got to work with what you have.

This skirt is another item I received at the modeling shoot for Amanda Valentine (as mentioned here in more detail) and I’ve already worn it more times than I care to admit, each time receiving wonderful compliments. It goes with a million things, and is insanely comfortable. And I’m not even kidding when I tell you that the day before I got this skirt, I had been literally dreaming of a bold black and white patterned skirt. And there it was! Before I had a baby in my belly, I wore it with tight tanks tucked in to show off the detail at the waist, but now I can’t quite zip it up all the way, so the back needs to be covered…you get used to things not quite closing all the way at this point 😉

I’m almost 38 weeks pregnant and I’m still soaking in the awesomeness of pregnancy and not “over” any of it. Expect the best – it just keeps getting better 🙂 (fun fact: H&M Nashville has a maternity section and their maternity skinny jeans are the bomb 🙂

Jody, thanks for saying that! I’ve so loved being pregnant this whole time, even with all the weird stuff that happens. It’s so amazing, and each step feels pretty much magical. I have a pair of maternity jeans from H&M and I love them! I got them in DC, though, so I’ll have to check out Nashville’s selection 🙂 thanks for checking out my blog! Hope you and Zach and Baby Gray are doing well!!
