Dressing the Bump :: Magenta Maxi

September 23, 2013

Maxi dresses are definitely the way to go when pregnant in the Summer, though it’s funny that I’m posting this the day after Fall has begun (woohoo! pumpkin spice lattes!). I found this dress while thrifting a few weeks ago, and totally lucked out because it’s an Ella Moss dress in near perfect condition. It’s not maternity, but the empire waist ensures sure that I can wear it well into my bump-growing this year. In order to sort of ‘accentuate’ the bump, I added a belt (you may remember the belt from this post), and kept it simple with camel colored sandals and my favorite necklace. Super comfy, really simple and the whole outfit was around $50…minus the necklace, which was a gift 🙂

I’m beginning to think that it might be possible to be pregnant without investing in an entirely new wardrobe, which is great news since our budget has never been tighter!

A Lengthy Sigh

November 17, 2010

(Wal-mart dress, Philanthropy sweater, miscellaneous bracelets, Italian boots)

This super soft sweater was my first real purchase at my new job…cropped, gray, buttery soft. It’s heavenly! And this dress has more than paid for it’s $15 self.  I bought it whilst shopping for groceries at Wal-mart a few months back, and it was such a happy find…long, black, racer-back.  It was great with sandals and lots of necklaces last summer, and now it’s a great layering piece. I kind of wish I had bought more of them when I could!

Speaking of long dresses, I just noticed some family resemblance in my cousin’s blog: Pomp and Circumstance. 🙂
