Dressing the Bump :: Magenta Maxi

September 23, 2013

Maxi dresses are definitely the way to go when pregnant in the Summer, though it’s funny that I’m posting this the day after Fall has begun (woohoo! pumpkin spice lattes!). I found this dress while thrifting a few weeks ago, and totally lucked out because it’s an Ella Moss dress in near perfect condition. It’s not maternity, but the empire waist ensures sure that I can wear it well into my bump-growing this year. In order to sort of ‘accentuate’ the bump, I added a belt (you may remember the belt from this post), and kept it simple with camel colored sandals and my favorite necklace. Super comfy, really simple and the whole outfit was around $50…minus the necklace, which was a gift 🙂

I’m beginning to think that it might be possible to be pregnant without investing in an entirely new wardrobe, which is great news since our budget has never been tighter!

Valentimes

September 9, 2013

Being only about halfway through my pregnancy journey, I’m still able to fit into pretty much all of my pre-preggo clothes, with the exception of a few pairs of jeans. It’s been fun to play around with different ways to show off my little bump and still (attempt to) look creative and cute. This t-shirt is one of my new favorites. I received it as a thank-you from Amanda Valentine for modeling a few months ago. If you haven’t heard of her, she’s a super rad Nashville designer, who also happened to be on last season of Project Runway! She’s such an inspiration, and is not only an amazing designer but is unbelievably kind, and an incredibly talented stylist as well. You should check out her line ValentineValentine, on Instagram (@valentimes) or on her Etsy shop.

A Girl and Her Shoes

May 17, 2011

Let me tell you a little story about a girl and a pair of shoes. Once upon a time there was a girl who saw a pair of shoes in a magazine. She loved these shoes, but she knew she would never be able to afford them, for they were horribly expensive. Every few weeks the girl would look at the shoes on-line, and occasionally she would go into the store and try them on. One day, about a year later, the girl checked on-line to see if maybe, just maybe, those shoes were on sale. And guess what…they WERE! They were Very on sale. So this girl called the closest store and had them hold her size (which they miraculously happened to have in stock) and that night the girl went and bought the shoes of her dreams, and the three of them lived happily ever after.

The End.
